The Champion brand creates a better world for the “champions” of tomorrow

Champion is part of the HanesBrands Inc. family of companies, apparel manufacturer recognized as a worldwide leader in social and environmental responsibility.

Champion has recently launched a new project named “Champion Made”, that supports social initiatives, non-profit organizations, community organizations and sports programs.  This creates a better world for the “champions” of tomorrow, by promoting inclusion, equal opportunities, and diversity in sports. To achieve this, the brand joined forces with Special Olympics USA, Urban Dove and NBPA Summer Camps to provide uniforms and apparel to children, teenagers and athletes, to ensure they have access to sport opportunities. Champion Made is also offering scholarships to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, which tirelessly works to support and represent the black community through education, across the country.

In order to produce responsibly-made apparel, the Champion brand has made some changes within its organization. Based on the optimization of raw materials and renewable energy sources, leading to a 27% reduction in carbon emissions and over 30% less water used in their manufacturing process, these changes are aimed at developing a better world through social responsibility initiatives.

“I am very proud of the fact that by 2025, as part of the HanesBrands family, Champion will use 100% recycled polyester and 100% sustainable cotton in all its apparel. It will achieve zero waste across operations and will reduce the absolute weight of packaging materials used for products, by 25%”, commented David Robinson, Director/ Champion Global Brand Marketing.
